Goodbye gray hair with Thuja

Thuja occidentalis or White Cedar. This is the name of the conifer with many properties, apparently also of an aesthetic nature. Some monks and masters of oriental arts and Chinese medicine tell of this property of the plant which is able to maintain the natural color of the hair for a long time, in particular the dark hazelnut or raven color of the hair. What is certain is that, if applied to hair that has been white-haired for some time,  the therapeutic effect will concern only shine, nourishment and hydration,  the reconstruction of any split ends, properties that are, in any case, very important and useful. The essential oil, if rubbed, is effective as an antirheumatic, antispasmodic in case of dysmenorrhea; the plant can also be used in the form of tea or applied through the leaves, it helps treat flu, colds, bronchitis and pneumonia. Thuja is also used in the treatment of warts, intestinal worms (it was the Frenchman Nicolas Lemery who first used the plant for medical use for this purpose), as well as having a sedative action which helps in cases of insomnia. The essential oil is indicated in case of warts, leeks and warts: it can be brushed on the part after being specifically diluted in a carrier oil (sesame oil, sweet almond oil, etc.). It is indicated to treat herpes simplex topically in the same way. It has antirheumatic, antiseptic, expectorant, vermifuge properties, thanks to the presence of tannins. It exerts a stimulating action on the central nervous system, promotes concentration and awakens attention. Thuja essential oil can become very toxic if not used properly due to the presence of thujoin, which can damage the liver. Its smell is acrid and strongly aromatic, its name depends on this characteristic, which derives from the Greek and means “to purify with perfumes; sacrifice“, in fact in ancient times this type of wood, precisely because of its so aromatic perfume, was burned during the sacrifices. Due to these properties, Thuja was also used by the ancient Egyptians during embalming procedures. The American Indians, on the other hand, boiled the leaves and branches in lard in order to obtain a solution used to relieve joint and muscle pain, malaria, cough, gout and rheumatism. Thuja by virtue of its numerous properties is a plant widely used in homeopathy. Maybe you will remain gray  but knowing  Thuja is a great advantage for much more.
